Dates and Time-table 5 October 2009 – 28 May 2010 Course content: Input: Every Wednesday 1415-1730 Observed teaching practice and observation of experienced teachers: to be arranged with each course participant (see required teaching practice and observation hours below) Tutorials: to be arranged with each course participant
Course fee: €3,450 Candidates will prepare for all three DELTA Modules:
Module One Background to teaching and learning ESOL in a range of contexts Assessment: Written examination (externally assessed)
Module Two Principles and professional practice of teaching ESOL in a range of contexts Assessment: Five assessed assignments incorporating background essays and observed teaching (one assessed externally)
Module Three Chosen ELT specialism (eg Teaching Young Learners, English for Special Purposes) Assessment: An extended assignment of 4,000-4,500 words (externally assessed)
Total exam fees for all three modules: £250
Course content: · 120 contact hours · 10 hours’ observed teaching (informally and formally assessed with one externally assessed lesson) · 10 hours’ observation of experienced teachers · At least 150 hours’ reading, research and assignment writing · Individual and group tutorials
