High School students may choose a boarding school where they live in the school residence with other students or a day school where they live with an Irish family in homestay accommodation.
Boarding School Accommodation for High School Students
The boarding school option gives students the opportunity to live in a caring and supportive community with their co-students and school staff, with plenty of opportunities for recreation, sport and outings. In most Irish boarding schools students sleep in dormitories which are shared with other students. In some cases, 6th year students occupy a private room.
Homestay Accommodation for High School Students
High School students who choose to attend a day school are offered full-board host family accommodation with a family who live close to their chosen high school. All of our families are visited to assess their suitability to host our students and all are provided with guidelines detailing their obligations and responsibilities to the young people in their care. The majority of our host families are parents themselves and many still have young children and teenagers living at home.
